Lharampa Tenzin Kalden
Lharampa Tenzin Kalden was born in Tibet in 1972 and completed 17 years of study at Sera Monastic University in South India. There, he completed the study of the five great fields of Buddhist knowledge, attained the title of Rabjampa and subsequently achieved the Lharampa, the highest academic level of the Gelug monastic tradition. In 2017, he also completed a Master’s degree in Spiritual Theology in the Interreligious Process at the University of Salzburg. Throughout his spiritual and academic path, he studied under distinguished Tibetan masters.
As one of the few Tibetan scholars able to communicate the extensive teachings of Buddhism directly in German, he has taught Buddhist philosophy and psychology, meditation, Lu Jong and Tsa Lung for many years. His teaching brings the depth of the classical Tibetan Buddhist tradition into a clear and practical context for contemporary life.
At Mahakasha, Lharampa Tenzin Kalden regularly leads trainings, courses and retreats in Buddhist psychology, Mind Coaching, meditation and Lu Jong. Together with Mahakasha, he also guides special spiritual pilgrimages in which Buddhist teachings, meditation, cultural encounters and direct experience come together. At the heart of his work is the question of how timeless Buddhist wisdom can be understood, experienced and lived in our lives today.
