Lu Jong Teacher Training 2027/28

Lu Jong is a centuries-old Tibetan movement practice that brings body, breath and mind into profound harmony. Rooted in Tibetan Medicine and Buddhist teachings, Lu Jong combines traditional knowledge of the five elements with flowing, powerful movements and a refined awareness of the body.

Working particularly through the spine, the exercises help to open the body, encourage the free flow of vital energy, and cultivate inner balance, sensitivity and clarity of mind. At the same time, Lu Jong provides a valuable foundation and support for meditation.

The Lu Jong Teacher Training 2027/28 offers the opportunity to experience this unique Tibetan practice deeply over an extended period of time, to understand its foundations and ultimately to learn how to share it with others.

The training combines the practical study of the traditional Lu Jong exercises with their foundations in Tibetan Medicine and Buddhist philosophy. It is about much more than learning a sequence of movements. Participants develop a deeper understanding of the relationship between body and mind and of how the five elements influence our physical and inner balance.

Training Content

At the heart of the training are the 23 foundational Lu Jong exercises:

  • five exercises for harmonising the five elements
  • five exercises for the five parts of the body
  • five exercises for the five vital organs
  • eight exercises supporting different physical and energetic conditions

The training also explores:

  • the origins, history and effects of Lu Jong
  • foundations of Tibetan Medicine
  • the five elements and the three bodily humours
  • the relationship between body and mind
  • foundations of Tibetan Buddhism and Tantrayana
  • meditation
  • body awareness and an understanding of human anatomy
  • teaching methodology and how to structure a Lu Jong class
  • preparation for the certification process and Masterclass

From Personal Practice to Teaching

Authentic teaching begins with personal experience.

Throughout the training, the movements are not simply learned but progressively deepened and embodied. Step by step, participants develop the confidence, knowledge and personal experience needed to share Lu Jong with others in a mindful and responsible way.

The training journey culminates in the Masterclass with Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche in March 2028, where future Lu Jong teachers receive the direct transmission.
