Study & Training
Buddhist Psychology
How does our inner experience arise? What shapes our thoughts, emotions and perceptions, and how can we learn to relate to our own mind with greater awareness?
Buddhist Psychology offers a profound study of the human mind and is traditionally understood as an inner science. At its heart lies mindful self-observation and a deeper understanding of how our thoughts, emotions and habitual patterns influence the way we experience and engage with life.
In this two-year training with Lharampa Tenzin Kalden, we explore essential foundations of Buddhist psychology and mind training. Teachings on the nature and function of the mind, the 51 mental factors, perception and habitual patterns, concentration and wisdom, love and compassion, Tonglen, Bodhicitta and meditation offer a rich and multidimensional path into our inner experience.
The training is not simply about acquiring knowledge. It is an invitation to observe the mind more deeply, recognize patterns that limit us, and consciously cultivate qualities such as clarity, equanimity, compassion and inner stability.
Talks, discussion, group work, self-study and practical exercises accompany this living path of learning. The training is intended for those who wish to understand Buddhist wisdom more deeply and integrate it into their own lives, as well as those who would like to apply this knowledge in their professional or social environment for the benefit of others. No previous knowledge of Buddhism is required.
Language & Participation: The course is taught in German. Participation is possible both in person at Mahakasha and online via Zoom.
